As Tolstoy once wrote something similar –
Never have I desired a calm course of existence. For me, it seems excitement, perhaps even danger – opportunity for sacrifice of self for the love of life – such is my exhilaration… Just the same, I have suffered not from my experience, but rather only in starvation thereof. My trials – splendor of beauty. My tribulations – super abundance. What I see as the traditional, quiet, cannabalistic nature of the majority having never provided outlet for my levels of energy and love of life, I have chosen a life of the banal – a life of the sublime. Pristine Passion, Pleading Perfection, Pangs of Pleasure, A Purple Peace… Kindness to others, honor, integrity – ultimately, my only true obligation to myself.
